Anyone with a deep trans pan on a DD having scrapping issues?
Anyone with a deep trans pan on a DD having scrapping issues?
Got a deep cast aluminum transmission pan, but on the TA it puts it about 2.25" closer to the ground than the stocker, in fact it would be closer to the ground than the long tube header collectors and they occassionally scrape.
Anyone running a deep pan on a daily driver and not having any scraping the ground issues?
Otherwise I'll put it on the truck.

I guess it would be worse if your car was lowered. I have had one for 10 years, my car is stock ride height in front and it only ever scraped once at a big triangle shaped metal speed bump (garden hose protector) in the Walmart parking lot.

I have this pan with the stock ride hight http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hughe...item2a1324623b
It never even comes close to hitting.

I had a deep pan on my 4L80e for years and it would scrape once in a while. Then I was careless loading it on the trailer one day and bent the hell out of the drain plug. Mine was even with the headers, so since yours is lower, I'd put it on your truck.

That Hughes pan looks exactly like the B&M I have.
My wife does drive this car too sometimes and she does not look out for high bumps in the road very well if you get my drift.
This place makes some really nice pans, little pricey.

They have a shallow depth pan which looks to cool the best compared to the TCI and Trans-Dapt stock aluminum pans...
But I really would just like a cast alum pan more so that it seals better rather than the cooling. Seems like I always have a trans fluid seep leak on the stamped pans and haven't on the cast ones.
The best would be get the 4L60E pan for the 3/4 ton trucks, they are deeper than the stocker by just a tad and can use an over the counter filter with no extention on it..but I can't seem to find one of those in cast alum.
