Help picking gears
Ok so the car in sig is going to be sprayed here within the next month. It had 4.10's in it but that rear end went bye bye a few weeks ago and now has the stock 3.42 rear end in it.
The car puts down over 400 RWHP and NA I rev it to 6500. With the 4.10's it was perfect NA and pulled HARD.
I am going to be spraying a 150 shot on it and also getting a 12 bolt.
I will most likely run a 26" tall tire and dont know what gear to get.
My options:
Run a 26" tall tire, spray it, and run 3.73's.
or
Run a 28" tall tire, spray it and run 4.10's.
Ideas?

Are you planning on running the 1/4-mile? What is the engine redline? How do you launch? Will the tires be bias-ply slicks (growth issues) or radials (no growth)? Can we assume you want to cross the traps in 4th gear?
I've run 26's with 3.73 with both an M6 and a TH400, and 28's with 4.10, but only with the TH400. It all comes down to matching the redline to the traps/MPH in the 1:1 gear, and using the resulting combo. You would probably be OK with a 26" tire with 403rwHP and a 150-shot.

So you said I should be OK with a 26" tall tire with 403 RWHP and a 150-shot on 4.10's???
