Me too. I think we're planning on going to the tract next Tuesday but I won't have drag radials yet so I'll still be running my low profile streets.

Bringing it back....anyone have any new updates on how their braced rear is holding up? I can't afford a 12 bolt or a 9" for a while so I may just order the brace kit and see what happens. But my car is an A4 with a small converter....for now...and will only have DRs and not slicks so it will probably last a little longer

Funny you brought this back up. I purchased the cover, already had some spare rods with heim joints on them, and made up the other parts needed. I just have to have the tabs welded on the axle tubes and I can put this together. Once I sell my TA cover to recoup some money, I'll only be out a little over a 100 bucks.

Update.
A few weekends ago my brother-in-law took his car to the track and blew the rear end. Everyone swore it was the ring and pinion because he had no movement at all. They also claimed that all the work we did on the rear end to save the ring and pinion was a waste of money and just proved it. Turns out he snapped both axle shafts and the ring and pinion was fine.
He just put new hardened shafts back in and was at the track yesterday. I didn't go with him so I don't have results yet but he didn't call me this tme to haul his car home so I'm guessing he didn't break anything.
Looks like the bracking did just what it ws designed to do and prevented the flexing causing the differential to grenade. Instead it transfeered a little more power than the stock axles themselves could handle. I've since done the countersinking on four cross pieces in the past two weeks as a result of this. Guess it made believers out of some people.
His last dyno sheet was 349rwhp through a manual transmission and 4.10 gears.

Well I finished my rear end up a few weeks ago and have not had time to write up any tuturials, but here are all of the pictures I snapped.

http://s109.photobucket.com/albums/n...ard2k/rearend/

I will get around to writing up all the steps involved along with a detailed cost summary, but I am very busy and don’t have the time right at the moment.

The rear end is holding up great, Have not been to the track with sticky tires yet, but it is holding the 380rwhp great on the street. I dont know if its just me or not, but the car seems to be more solid when launching from a dig. I plan on going to the track in the next few weeks also, so I will let you guys know!

i went 10.70s on a 100% stock 10bolt. just broke the ring gear last week after putting a t/a cover on, are any ring gears better than others like summits v.s motive, etc.

I have been fabbing up the few parts I need to make this mod work. Hopefully when the car hits the shop again in 4 weeks for the ABS delete and line lock install, I'll have the axle tabs welded on, and finish this up.
