Big Cam/stock stall
Big Cam/stock stall
Hey all,
I was curious as to whether or not a Cam/Valve train/Gears upgrade will REQUIRE a stall in order to run. I’m aware that for optimal gains/performance i need the stall, i intend to get one, but for now would a stock stall still run normal enough under the new mods to get me around town?
i have a 93 Z28 and the cam specs are looking like 233/239 LSA110+3 .597"/.607" lift, i also have 4.10 gears already installed, 1.6 rockers and new springs for the increased lift. i’ll be going with a 3200+ stall. i wanted to get it tuned after the cam and valve train job, should i wait till after the new stall is in as well? and how rough is it gonna be if i wait until after the stall.
thanks in advance!

Re: Big Cam/stock stall
I think it’s fine to get it tuned now, and it’s fine to wait for the stall. The car will just bog a bit off the line if you try to go hard off the line without the stall.
Are you doing a mail order tune, a street tune, or a dyno tune?
I might do mail order or street first, then make some revisions once the stall is in; hold off on dyno tuning until the stall is in.
