Anybody found an easier way to get tranny fluid level correct?

Anybody found an easier way to get tranny fluid level correct?

Getting ready to put another new tranny in and it's always been a bitch trying to get the level right the first time because the dipstick always picks up oil from along the bottom of the tube. Got any suggestions?

I just let mine sit for about a half hour and checked it again.

I was only about 1/4 of a qt short at that point, so I think it worked out well..
