94 Z Limp Mode ?

Yep after doing some research on the forum it sounds like my car is in limp mode, Only has one forward gear and no overdrive. I have replaced the 2-3 solenoid and no change. My car had a 3.23 rear and swapped in a 3.42 in its place recently. Would this have fried my P.C.M. and caused this ? Is this a P.C.M. issue or a trans issue ? I am dead in the driveway until I can figure this out !

Did you scan the PCM for transmission codes? They don't turn on the SES light.

Changing the rear axle will not "fry" the PCM.

As Injuneer said, check it for codes. Is it 1st gear or 3rd gear it's trying to take off in?

Takes off in third, no lights come up on the dash. I will check the trans fuse.

Already explained- trans codes do not turn on SES light.

Service engine soon. It's a light on the dash that comes on when the PCM (powertrain control module = computer) sets a diagnostic trouble code.

You need to read your Owner's Manual.

Re: 94 Z Limp Mode ?

After doing more research and reading up on what other people have done and aside from Injuneers helpful "read your owners manual" comment I replaced the PCM and all is well. Thanks to those who were helpful on this.
