ok the other day i had changed the maf on the car and it caused my check engine light to come on. So i put the orginial one back on today and the light goes off after i have driven the car for a little while but now my car will not shift out of gear and i dont have reverse does anyone know what caused this

This may have been a coincidence. A no reverse in tandem with no 2nd or 4th is a sure sign of a broken sun shell. This is a common problem with the 4L60E, which is why we upgrade all of our transmissions to the HD (Beast) sun shell.

If you put the vehicle in neutral, does it try to move forward? If so, it could be burnt fwd. clutches. If the fwd clutch pack is locked on, it will cause a no reverse problem.

You're only other option may be a linkage problem.

Nothing electronic will cause a 4L60E to not have reverse.

yea i think the shell must be broken cause the car wont shift to second. i havent been able to get it up to speed to even try fourth but it doesnt want to shift from 1st to 2nd. And when i put it in neutral in doesnt try to move at all and the same when thing happens when im in reverse its like a second neutral.
