Re: 4l60e To 4l80e Swap??

A 4L80E is an absurd swap for an F-Body. I've seen quite a few people do it, and slow waaaay down (.3). The 80E is bigger and much heavier than a 60E, and it eats up alot more HP to turn it. The swap involves a new crossmember, driveshaft, torque arm mounting location, rewiring, etc. I've also seen many of those 80E "believers" swap back to the 60E when they saw the result the 80E had on performance.
A PROPERLY built 60E will take you deep in the 10's without worry or failure. The problem is, there are very few people that can build one PROPERLY Fortunately, I happen to be one of them

Go to the "Advanced Tech" forum and do a "search". There is a multi-page thread on the 4L80E.
