4l60E 3rd gear slips (or fourth, not sure) when at WOT

My cousin has a 00 Trans am (Non-ws6) with a auto 4l60E. It will shift fine in normal driving conditions. However, when he guns it at WOT the transmission will slip between 2nd and 3rd or 3rd to 4th (Im clueless on autos, I own manual vehicles). We tried some Lucas Oil Stop Slip and that helped a little, anything else we can try (TV Cable?) Before taking it to be diagnosed? Thanks.

I have a similar thing, Im lucky if it'll shift into 4th at WOT anymore. I just take it easy on her for now, until i can afford a rebuild.

So the clutches are bad? Fluid needs a change? Maybe the TV cable? I mean, whats the problem?

There is no TV cable on 94-> . Dont no if a fluid change will help. (dont think so). If the clutches are bad tha onlu things gona help you for the moment is raising the oil pressure for faster/harder wot shift (reprogram the pcm) That is only a temporary solution...... sorry to say you gona need a rebuild soon....(my opinon)

i second that....if it's slipping, anything u do is a temporary fix....slippage = inevitable rebuild.

Yup...The 3-4 clutches are smoked. There's quite a few things we do to them when we rebuild them to prevent it from happening in the future.
4L60E's are more than capable of handling times into the 10 second zone if built properly.
