cannot get M^ on after trying for three days, need help

cannot get M6 installed after trying for three days, need suggestions
I've pulled and installed this one three times already, but for some reason I can't get it on now.
I used a plastic alignment tool for the clutch and PP and then bolted it all together
the clutch fork is out of the way
the input shaft is almost all the way in, but I can't get it to go in the last inch or so, the alignment tabs are touching thier holes just barely, but it won't slide on the rest of the way.
i've been doing everything just like I always have and it won't go together and I'm rather frustrated, I need suggestions on what i could be doing wrong here
