Just came here to express my deepest regret in GM after developing the 4L60E transmission. I own a company here in Chicago and my motto is GM vehicles only. I was just made aware by (Aamco Transmissions-Local tranny shop) that several of my Avalanche trucks are equipped with this transmission.

I still have nightmares from my 4th gen Camaro and its 4 or 5 rebuilds...one truck just went in for its first trans rebuild...

Yes, in factory form the 4L60E has many issues. However, if built by the right person it can be built to not only hold up well, but it can take an amazing amount of abuse.
