Question How much does a new GM 4L60-E cost?

The 4L60-E in my '95 Z28 has finally taken a dump. I keep hearing all the horror stories of shops that cannot properly rebuild these tranny's and people are going through 3+ transmissions. My car has 323 rwhp and I was wondering if a new 4L60-E or remanufactured from GM with warranty would hold up to that power level? I think it would and like the peace and sound of a warranty from GM. How much do one of the GM new or remanufactured trannies cost? Thanks!

I really don't think the 60e in stock form was meant to deal with 400hp. The 65e probably is, but no clue what that crate tranny goes for.

I'd keep researching and look for a reputable shop. Pro-Built Automatics seems to have a pretty good rep. So does LT1 Dave.

For the cost of the new one, you may as well get one built for your application.

FLP offers transmissions and they are just over in Illinois. Go to FLP .
