Exclamation What's the current fastest 1/4 mile record for LT1/LT4?(HELP!)

Does anybody know what the current fastest quarter mile record stands at for a LT1 or LT4 and from whom? What was the ET?

Doesn't matter weather or not its NA,nitrous, blown or if it was from a Impalla, vette or F-body.

Any help is appreciated!

I think the fastest running car right now is Chris Zikora.

Woulda.... shoulda..... coulda.....

But George's 9.04@155 was an extremely easy pass, right off the trailer. If you've seen my video, the car didn't even pull the front wheels. And at the end of the track it was smoking a bit, running rich. After the burnout for the next pass, it had to be shut down, because of blower noise, and we found the tips missing off a number of the blower blades... most likely happened on the 9.04 pass. Plan for the day was 2 easy passes, and then a serious one.... but that was all she wrote. Can't take any credit for a pass that wasn't made......

Woulda.... shoulda..... coulda....

With my new chassis and much lighter weight(should come in somewhere around 2600 to 2800lbs) and alot of Agostino Racing Engine LT1ci. Throw in the Jeff Prock(BIG) nitrous tuneup and with hopes I Look to not only get it to run 8.99 but hopefully put some spread from 8.99 or better.

My calculation with power to weight the numbers are much better but then again 2 plus 2 doesn't always equal 4, so I'm looking to be conservative with et.

This is the last year for the LT1 because after this summer possibly by spring of 04 the new combination(nonLT1 block) should be making its way and fitted in the car.

Jim,

Theres absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be able to completely crush the 9.04 mark. Do the math:

George went 9.04 w/ ~1150hp, on a soft 1.3x launch on the footbrake, at ~3800lbs.

Take away 1000lbs of weight, and a good launch (which shouldn't be an issue given the lighter weight and 4 Link, and all around car that will work ALOT better then a stock framed/suspended car). You're down into the Low 8 second range.

Given you probably won't make this kind of power, but a 23* headed Single stage Nitrous motor should be capable of 1050-1100hp.

Darren,

I'm anxiously waiting your results. I've been too busy doing things and then making changes to what I've already done to actually finish the car LOL. If you guys take too long I wouldn't worry about it too much. I don't have a doubt in my mind that Joe's NA Record and George's record will fall.

The serious LT1 cars everywhere are really starting to come together, I can't wait for the "races" to start.
