My guess is that you need more horsepower in order for slicks to show an advantage.

There is definitely a bit more sitting on the table by switching from the shorties to long tubes. As for the long tubes changing the overall exhaust note with the Borla, it is possible. The long tubes offer different flow characteristics versus the shorties which may have an effect on the overall sound.

I figured the gains over the SLP headers would be minimal because both have 1 3/4" primaries. Some have said that the SLP's are mid lengths, if so, then I wouldn't expect to pick up much...especially on a stock bottom end motor. Maybe a stroker would require more flow.
