newb question.

Do you need a drivers license to drag race?
I want to try the drag strip. damn cops!

depends on the track...i know some that have allowed people to race if they see that you can handle yourself in a car. but there others that will tell you no right away. just show up and give it a try.

NHRA General Requirements 10:4
Each driver of a vehicle entered in any event conducted at an NHRA member track must have a valid state or government driver's license or NHRA Competition License subject to inspection by officials at any time.
I've never had a track actually ask to see my license, but then they tend to cut senior citizens a little slack.......

Yeah I guess that they assume that us seniors all have valid licenses.

At Gatway International Raceway they make every drive show there license. Of the 20+ times I have gone I have to show my license and then sign some paper work.

I have never seen them ask at my local track. If you looked really young, I suppose they would look.
