I have the same questions! I pulled EVERYTHING too, and I have a 4" gap at front fender well. Is it safe to chop springs? Or if I do it right, what springs or type of springs should I buy? Examples? Thanks - and glad to know I'm not the only crazy guy that runs a street legal race car!

Yes, you can chop springs. Use a cutoff wheel to take out half a coil. More, if you dare. Then, use an oxy torch to heat one spot halfway around the remaining top spring coil until it's cherry red. Flip the spring upside down and bang it onto the concrete. That will bend the top over to make the spring fit the perch. Then, let the spring air cool. It'll take a set, and the spring will maintain it's correct rate. Well, actually the spring rate will go up a little, because a spring with less coils will have a slightly higher rate due to the fact that there will be more twist per coil per inch of compression.

Find a set of used QA1s. They are adjustable for ride height.

Sounds good you guys, I will go the cheap route with V6 springs in the front and cut coils in the back. I will get pictures of all the steps Im taking to make it sit lower and post them up ASAP. Maybe if funds are good I will step up to adjustables QA1's in the future. Off topic but how many of your guys signifigant other complain about the whole gutted race car on the street situation. Ive been getting heat from everyone in my family except my crazy old man and grandpa who have gas in there veins.
