Need major lowering after weight reduction

1994 TA Started out at 3680# when I bought it 6+ years ago, did the usual fiberglass hood, carpet insulation!,, stereo!, spare!, oil cooler, etc, etc. Last year weighed in at 3340# with half tank, pulled swaybar and 1/4tank it should be at 3300#. Started major weight reduction plan last week and managed to pull 226# more out of her. All interior except door panels, dash, console, and two racing buckets are all thats left inside. Pulled AC/heater, condensor, all tubing and HVAC box, put in delete plate. Relocated battery, washer fluid bottle!, ABS!, pulled dash ripped out all un-needed insulation heater vents and motor. This should put her at 3300-226=3070's# shooting for 3000# when finished. After all of this the car looks like it ready to go 4-wheeling, the gap between the tires and fender well are about 6"-7". What have you major weight reduction guys done to bring it back to stock ride height? Ive been inspired by shon herron and john P. to do this to my car since its mainly a toy and I love the times there running all bolton.

Some adjustable coilovers have your name on it.

On the cheap, perhaps v6 springs?
I haven't used coil overs or adjustables up front in my car yet, and it isn't quite as light as yours just yet either, but that or similar may be my plan after getting rid of a couple more things up front and will probably be looking at the same problem you're having right now. Anybody?

I have cut down 6 cyl springs in the rear of my car, the car has a nice stance with a 28" tall MT Et Street radial tire.

The car did "raise" itself this winter after my weight reductions too.

Tom, your car and John P's, Shon Herron are my inspriration for this madness. I have pulled every thing except the crash supports and foam sides. I will have to check on some V6 springs from the local scrap yard.

Funny thing is my buddy came in and thought it was on a floor jack until I told him what I did.

Couple problems here....

1. Please do not post anything but "engine" questions on "LT1/LT4 Engine Tech".

2. Post only in one forum. You already have this on Drag Racing.

Thanks.

I can merge the two threads in Drag Racing, or move them to "Suspension, Chassis and Brakes". What is your preference?

I have true duals on my car that exit right before the rear axle, its tough to get the car as low as I want to on both ends. I run a 26" tall front tire on the front and a 28" tall tire on the back. I still street drive my car from time to time and I need to watch for bottoming out the tailpipes.

I had roughly those same "clearance issues" you had in the rear at first, however thru the magic of the cutoff wheel I got it to my liking.
