What I confusingly was trying to say is that 104 is about 13.0 with current gearing and current stall with sticky tires.... gears and a stall on top would obviously lower the ET significantly as well as stress the rear a lot more.

Bulldookey. With an auto trans you can run deep into the 11s for years on slicks with a 10 bolt.

i havent had any problems (until i type this, now the next time it will die) but a4's are more forgiving, especially with a stock tc

My 4.10's were holding together fine 'til I took my car road racing. They didn't like that type of abuse (no way to preload the drivetrain like there is when you drag race). Only 2 teeth sheared off the pinion, that's all!
