no, i agree with you. radials dont have sidewalls that are going to give with less pressure. so if you drop pressures too much, your just going to get more rolling resistance and not get any more grip....

thats why i haven't tried less than 17 psi....

i wouldnt run a drag radial any less than 17, just from what i hear. that being said, my et streets are not radials so i may try to go lower next time, maybe around 12 psi, just to see what happens. so far the lowest i've gone is 15 psi and my best 60ft to date is 1.977 there should be a lot more room to improve...

This may be true with the short sidewalled 17s but as a blanket statement it is totally wrong. I run 275-60x15 MT ET street radials which are 28'' tall and have seen a zoom in high quality pic of the rear tire at launch and it is wrinkled up pretty good and that was at 21PSI. 1.48-1.53 60s thru an auto trans.

max psi is 44. 75% of that is 33psi.....

i may drop them down to about 26-28 though. just enough to get more contact patch on the tread....
im sorry ive been out of the loop a bit are the ET street radials different than the ET street drag radials? Maybe im just confusiong the tires and could make me wrong lol

yeah, i guess i shouldnt have said NO radial sidewall will flex, but i dont think you'll see that happening with my 25.8" tire on a 17" rim.

i think i need to get some 15-16" rims. ive heard that the brake calipers have to be shaved down to run 15" rims in the rear. anyone know for sure???

Depends on the 15" rims. With the Weld Pro-Stars and DragLites you have to grind the fins off the brake calipers. There is an FAQ thread on 4th Gen drag wheels stickied on the "Wheels and Tires" forum. The Bogart 15's will fit with no grinding.
