and i did, what what i dont get is; i was told you have to cut the floor to weld the 8 pt to the sfc's, so would that be or not a factory floor then? i dont know anything about a 6 pt if that goes thru the floor

In a stock bodied car you don't go thru the floor. You weld or bolt 6" x 6" by 1/8" pads on top of the floor and weld the bar to that. And that's for a 6 or an 8 point roll bar.

And you don't even have to weld the bars to the floor. On a unibody car you can use a 6"x6" 1/8"Th plate welded to the bar, and bolt it through the floor with a matching 6x6 plate under the floor, with at least four 3/8" bolts per plate.

I think welding would be preferable, though I am not sure of it.
