Another update.... the car ran at Atco NJ last weekend (5/21-23) in the PRO/Edelbrock Hot Rod & Musclecar Nationals, Xtreme Street class. Qualified 8th in a field of 16 cars with a 8.828@158.41 MPH. Heat was stifling mid-90's, and humidity was similar. Car just wasn't making the power he expected. The car did pull a new best of 1.31 60-ft during qualifications.
Won the first round of eliminations with a 0.093 light, 1.3X 60-ft, 8.87 @ 156.86. Came out second best in the second round with an 0.079 light, 1.3X 60-ft, 8.887@156.28.
The class winner was Tony Orts 68 Firebird 400, with a 8.507@161.79. Top qualifier was Frrank Mewshaws 88 Camaro 377 with an 8.44@166.17. The nitrous cars really seemed to have the advantage with the high temperature and humidity.
Time for a little more test & tune before the ls1tech.com North vs. South in June.
