13.20@109.7 5100da... 2.2 60'

Ok, I got the new motor running ok, and it goes down the track... I just need to learn to 60' all over again. First of all my brakes are so shot that I cant do a real burnout. I just do a rolling burnout to get the stuff off the tires. I then stage, and I was idling out basically because there is no stick to my nittos right now. I have the 555r nitto DRs, and I am thinking that now I need slicks, but what is the best way to get the tires sticky enough to launch at a higher rpm than idle? The new tq is just unreal, I would idle out and then slow into the gas and lose the tires every time.

any advice appreciated

Yea you really need a burnout with the nittos.

how much you guys think I can gain from getting it into the 1.8 range of a 60' with slicks and skinnies? I really want to beat my friend who has an ls1 w/ a cam and slicks and skinnies, he ran 12.7@112 w/ a 1.9 60'... line lock and slicks/skinnies enough?

Ya with a good 60 foot and a good tune I can see that. You might have a bit left on the table with a mail order tune. Your best off doing a few dyno runs with A/F ratio print out. This will tell you if you have more hp out there.

I ran 13.48 @ 103 with a 2.03 60ft. I ran 13.07 @ 108 on a 1.89 60ft. Same mods, close to the same weather. Its amazing what a good 60ft will do.

oh yes with that mph you can go 12.7 or better. for comparison i trap just under 107mph and go 12.85 on a 1.8 sixty...if you can launch at a real rpm somewhere near your powerband your trap speed should jump up beyond 110mph and a decent 1.8 short time'll get you in the 12.6x range

My old best was 13.10 @ 110.65 w' a 2.12 60'. I figure I could get into the 12s with a decent launch.
