Speed Density vs MAF
Speed Density vs MAF
I took my 93 TA and converted it using the EFI Connection conversion and it worked great.
My question is concerning the tune?
I stayed Speed Density and din't install a MAF.
My cam is a 228/234 @ .050 .564/.556 w/ 108 LSA 104 ICL
Should I add the MAF back in?
Would that help my car and the way it's tuned?
I do know that at WOT the car don't look at the MAF so I'm just curious what I should do?

Actually, the PCM does use the MAF at WOT.
Whether an MAF will help depends on how well the tuner did with the VE tables, and whether you will continue to make changes that alter VE.

Are you suggesting that the PCM defaults to speed-density at WOT (PE mode)? Not that I am aware of. The MAF sensor is a reasonably accurate device. Why not use the mass air data direct, rather than do a bunch of complicated speed-density calculations, highly sensitive to the accuracy (or inaccuracy) of the VE tables?
