Can't he just attach the file and post it here? Like this sample. Might be better to start a new topic also?

I keep forgetting that everyone can attach files..... for years that was not possible on this site.

Fatdog..... go to LT1 Based Engine Tech, start a "New Thread". In the screen where you enter the message, below the message field is the option "Manage Attachments". A box will open to allow you to "Select File". When you click it will open File Explorer on your PC. Double click the file you want to attach. When you have all the attachments, click "Upload".

You should be able to open the .csv file with Excel or MS Works/MS Spreadsheet

When you start the new thread, include a description of any problems you are experiencing (if any) with the engine. If you are just looking for a general "check up", indicate that.

I think MS Works is standard in all their operating systems. Excel is an extra cost program, part of MS Office.

Apache Open Office (Calc) is another free option for viewing spreadsheets. Of course, you can use any plain old text editor like Wordpad or Notepad, but there will be no columns.

Great job on this Gary. If I wasn't broke I'd send you a few bucks. Your program helped me diagnose why my airbag light was on in my '95 TA. Looks like I'll need a clockspring.

Thanks. Save your money for the car; I'm retired now and just do this for a hobby.

Re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1

Hi there!
Need some help from you. Recently, I wanted to view my logs that I wrote some months ago. So I decided to run Scan9495 with data cable, but without the connection to PCM. The app started normally, I loaded one of two (the second for transmission) files, cliced to play button and started to view data that was appeared in columns, but when I tried to view transmission data and went to transmission tab, I noticed that the table was empty - no data in it. Please tell me, where was my mistake? Also I noticed that the loading of transmisson log file is incorrect and the app tells me about this by the error warning popup window.
So, how can I view the transmission data from the log files?
Thank you!!!

Scan9495 does not (yet) have the capability to play back transmission log files. You will need to use something like Microsoft Excel or Apache OpenOffice Calc to display them. Of course, any text editor like Wordpad can view the files, but it's more difficult to analyze that way.

By the way, if you ever need to play back older engine log files, those may not work well with the present version of Scan9495. You can always download the version that was used, if you know the log file's date, and use that one instead. Those older version are stored in the Archives folder.

Re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1

Oh thank you! It's all clear to me now.
I used the version of the app that was actual in september of 2015 for the logs that I wrote at that time. But I'll check the updates for my future logs.
Also I want to ask you, do I need to select unsusual regional settings in MS Excel to view these logs right? Cause I use russian settings in my OS by default...
Thank you!!!

I can't help with the regional settings. Don't really know much about that.

Version 2.5.0 is posted. It adds the current DTC list to the engine display table so you don't have to switch to the DTC tab to see them. And it fixes a bug that slowed the log file save operation. Now it only takes typically a couple of seconds instead of as long as several minutes.
