In theory, yes if they are LT1. Some cars like the Corvette have other supervisory controllers as well that can "get in the way" of communications. Performance on those cars is intermittent.

Gary I am just getting this setup in my laptop. Need the driver installed and cable. The older build your own cables could be "bricked", can I avoid this by purchasing the $60 cable from aldl.com? Or should I not worry about it because the older cables are no longer being shipped? Just trying to keep it simple.

I also am really looking forward to troubleshooting an ABS light and getting some data logs to my tuner. This has had to have taken a lot of work, thank you for your time and effort, mucho appreciated!

Yes, the purchased cables are safe to use. The "bricking" affects all knock-off copies of the chip, past and present; and those are still vulnerable if you don;t take special measures to use only the older drivers.

Red Devil River is another good source for a safe cable.

Are you talking about cutting off the 12-pin or 16-pin connector and using that? Or are you talking about using the entire Innova cable? I have no idea how the Innova cable is configured. You would have to investigate that. The only pins needed for the 12-pin connector (year 94) are A and M. The only pins needed for the 16-pin connector (year 95) are 4/5, and 9. You can buy a cheap 12-pin cable to use for about $5 or a cheap 16-pin connector to use for about $3.

An OBD-1 scanner has a 12-pin connector. The correct cable for Scan9495 will have a 12-pin connector. Your 94 has a 12-pin connector. You don't need an "adapter".

Probably. Cut off the 16-pin connector, and use the 12-pin connector and short pigtail for the new cable.

You either haven't installed the driver or haven't installed it correctly.
