Problems with my 97

I am having a few issues with my new to me 97 Z28, M6

They orginally seemed to be unrelated, but after reading the forums a while, I am not sure.
Anyway the problems are;

1. Power windows, locks and radio, sometimes turn off, I hit a bump or hit the dash, and they start working again.\

2. "Security" light has been on since I bought it.
What might this mean and will it cause me to be stranded.

3. Upon first starting the car, mainly when cold,(car not temps) I hear a buzzing or knocking sound. I cannot pinpoint the noise. From the drivers seat it sounds like under the dash near the clutch pedel and under the hood, it sound like from the water pump/alt area.
This is not a bearing noise, but more like a electrical short or a welder that has a bad ground.

4. When the key is in the accesory position, there is a differant buzzing noise, also electrical, but from under teh car. Cannot pin it down.

5. Fans do not work at all, jumped the ALDL using terminal 5 & 6, not go.

Lastly, it seems to be down on power, I can get a good 1st gear tire scratch, but it will not even chirp into 2nd.

Thanks for any and all help.

#1 & #4 - Could be a problem with the body control module (BCM). That supplies power to the radio and power windows, since it incorporates the "RAP" (retained accessory power) feature that keeps the radio and power window powered for 15 minutes after you turn the key off (or open a door). When they are faulty, they will buzz.

#5 - Do the fans come on when you turn the AC on? Without the AC on, the coolant has to reach 226*F before the fans come on at low speed.

I think I would take a look under the dashboard and see if there have been any modifications or look for loose connections. No telling what you might find.

I have noticed that sometimes the RAP does not work, I just figured that the door was not shut all the way.
If it is the BCM, do I replace it or fix it?

As far as the A/C being on, it has no effect on weather the fans come on or not.
The SES light was on for awhile and did not turn the fans on.
Thanks

I will try that and see what I find.
However, I bought car from the original owner and he did nothing to the car except maintaince. Totally factory, even went to the dealer for oil changes.

I've heard of people opening up the BCM and fixing a weak point on the printed circuit board..... but I don't know the details.
