PCM Detection Problems (2 New PCMs) Some Comunitcation?

If your laptop has a modem it will usually take com1 which will then conflict with a pcmcia serial adapter on com3. You have to disable the modem and then use com1 for the serial adapter.

I got another used pcm and this one worked great. Something that I did not even consider, wish is very stupid, is I left the battery connected when I installed the other two. I don't know if that had something to do with it. But its odd that both the PCMs work and the car runs but I cant read or flash. The third PCM I disconnected battery and it worked great for reading/writing. Lesson learned - add that to the book along with missing one complete rod when torquing on my first engine build, costing me $1200. doh. Oh well its a learning process and im now driving around in my camaro having a blast!
