Re: News Flash!! TUNERCAT OBD2 TUNER AVAILABLE NOW!!

I actually have a beta version of the 96/97 LT1 PCMs. So its anytime for release. I suspect right after Christmas there will be many more definitions available for the rest of the OBD2 stuff and the 05 cars as well.

I wonder how the other players are going to react now....... I am sure their prices will come down. Just as it has before with the news of EFI Live, Hp Tuners, Digital HP Inc. and now TC is back in town......Good for business and competition. However I am a supporter of TC as he has helped me many times and has always been great as far as customer support goes. Not to mention his product has always been top notch.

Re: News Flash!! TUNERCAT OBD2 TUNER AVAILABLE NOW!!

Maybe I'm blind but I don't see where they are offering the OBD2 stuff on the tunercat website? Not that it matters to me, but I was just curious. My money is waiting to be spent on this since I've been waiting (im)patiently for 2+ years, another month or so won't hurt.

Yeah and can you just put in an OBDII pcm into a 95 LT1 and just change the KS and get it all working since the CPS isn't important? I hope they'll have an option to disable the SES from comming on if the CPS isn't hooked up

Me too. If they dont have that option then it would be worthless for me at least to switch back to a 97 PCM. Actually Im not sure if there would really be much of an advantage anyway over the OBD1 but im still excited.

As with Tuner Cat tradition none of the OBD2 software will be vin locked! Also TC has not updated his website for the OBD2 stuff. But it will be soon. If you guys are interested in TC's software just email him at:

No, not Vin locked. On top of that, you can purchase a definition file for 79.95.
That file , for example OBD2_03, will cover all 1999, 2000, 2001 Camaro, Firebird and Corvette LS1. Three years of all three models for 79.95.

There are tons of tables and options in TC software, excellent stuff as Tj said. I will try to post some screenshots when I get a chance, or maybe Tj or The Highlander can.

It uses TunerCat's classic layout. Simple and fast.

The vin unlocking is key................... I suspect a change in the way LS1 Edit licenses in the not so distant future.. heh... assuming anyone would even consider it anymore.

Probably not. LT1 edit has always been vin locked, even though TC has had the $EE definition file out for a long time.

Hey Ion how are you doing these days? Haven't heard from you in a while, as for me I'm just trying to stay afloat with a new ball and chain. Mainly the new chassis dyno I bought a few months ago.
