Larger T/B Where to start tuning.

Hey all, I got 50 gazillion projects going, anyway, I recently aquired a 58mm T/B(AS&M peice) for my 97 T/A (383). It already has a 52mm.
My basic question is besides getting my idle nailed down, where do I start?
Will this effect my MAF tables? Any ideas are welcome.

It won't affect your maf tables as they will still read the air passing through the maf just fine.
Other than idle im not sure what else there is to do with a bigger TB

you must adjust your trans tables, do a search, usually going to a 58 mm will make the trans shift early and soft because at the same tps setting as before you are flowing more air, some people have even had some major trans issues after the 58mm swap, the main thing it to up your line pressure, then re adjust your shift points

Re: Larger T/B Where to start tuning.

I was able to do some hardcore work with the T/B this weekend and I found a few things odd.

At idle the car idles decent fluctuates in rpm from 650 to 800 pretty regularly, target idle is 850 rpm. My IAC is at 160 and it doesnt seem to move at idle, under throttle slight and otherwise it moves normally from 20 to 100 depending on TP.
TPS is at .55 vdc.

My BLMs are pretty steady from 119 to 132 moving up and down normally, but the BLM used in LT is 108 (cell 16) !!?? exhaust has a very gassy smell. O2 readings are fluctuating from 800 to 300 mv. throttle blades are completely closed.

Could the IAC be dirty? My Airflow from the MAF is around 12 (freescan #s) up and down + or - 2. MAP read in voltage from .350 to .420 (freescan #s again) with a bar of 1.000.

Re: Larger T/B Where to start tuning.

i just did a bbk 58mm last week and i noticed the same thing out of the box, here is what i did and it fixed it, the blades are closed too much causing youe idle and iac count problem

1. slot out your tps sensor mounting holes
2. crank up the set screw for the throttle blades resting position,(you want to open the resting position) i had to go about 4-5 turns
3. set your tps voltage to around .6 or so

this also brought my blm's back to normal, they were split like yours right after the install
