Fuel Pump on 69

I would like to replace the stock mechanical fuel pump on my 69 camaro with an aftermarket mechanical fuel pump! My problem is clearence. Last year I tried installing either a Holley or an Edelbrock mechanical fuel pump and the bottom of the pump wouldn't clear the frame! Has anybody came across this problem and if so what model did you use to clear the frame? This is a Chevy small block 350. Thanks

Could be that you have a "flat" engine mount. I seen some that were tight but never one that hit. Of course I haven't seen them all.

Don't really feel like replacing the motor mounts, so I guess I'll just keep the stock pump.

Plate kit

I found a plate kit model # 1797 that attatches to the bottom of fuel pump model # 1721, these are edelbrock models. As anybody installed one of these plate kits for clearence issues. Does it work good?
