There is a lot of overlap, but in general and in this specific case, the dual plane will be better below 5,500rpm where your car is going to spend most of the time.

SO you think that I would benefit more from a 212-218 range duration cam, then the xe 274 (230/236)? I just dont see how the smaller cam will run better and produce more power than the 230/236

Reread the whole thread. It's a heavy car and you have an automatic, don't want to run a lot of gear or rev it much past 6,000rpm. We are talking about making midrange power, not peak power. You are also running a carb and if you don't have a decent vacuum signal, it will run like crap at low engine speeds.

IF you are willing to run more gear and a looser converter, you should use a bigger cam (and a single plane intake).
