Question about Gauge Cluster 1980 Camaro

On an original 1980 Camaro, what is the ohm scale which the original fuel guage operates on? Thanks in advance for any help.

I think most GMs after the late 60s worked with sending units that were 0 ohms empty, 90 ohms full.

The sending units are pretty reliable, usually it is a fault somewhere in the wiring. The usual suspect is a bad ground commonly caused by corrosion. Have you traced your wires from the tank to the instrument panel?

I recently installed a full vehicle wiring harness, and tail end is my next step. My stock fuel guage works... idk how acurate it is lol... but who cares 20 gallons on a 10mpg car ur fillin up ever 4 days anyway. haha. I was swappin out the stocker dash for a pro comp setup and dont know which fuel gauge to purchase due to the 3 different ohm ranges you can purchase. I ran by a Chevy Truck page which mentioned a 240 - 33ohm sender, but I want to make sure and have something absolutely confirmed for my 80 Camaro. Thanks again.
