why wouldnt better speakers sound good on the factory deck, they can hold more power and I would assume not distort at higher volumes such as the stock crap... and I havent seen any aftermarket decks with 6 channel setups ???

The amount of power the after-market speakers can handle has nothing to do with it. It's the POS factory HU and amplifier. They're nothing more than over-hyped distortion generators. Thats why the factory speakers are blowing all the time.

Yeah it does suck. Get used to it. More and more car companies are making it harder and harder to upgrade the stereo system. My brother-in-law wanted to buy my old stereo system to upgrade the one in his new Monte Carlo. He can't unless he gets some kind of harness to relocate the factory HU into the trunk. Some kind of safety feature (air bags maybe?) for the car is integrated into the stereo or something like that.

If you keep the factory amp and HU you will still risk blowing the speakers. The only way to NOT blow them is to ease up on the volume control and back off the bass sliders on the EQ a little.
