Best way to setup...
Best way to setup...
Alright, I got the pieces to my system. What's the best way to set it up now.
Got a 2 channel Lanzar Vibe 240 800 watt amp
And 2 JL 12W3's
What do you guys think?
Is it even possible to run this thing bridged with 2 subs?
How should I wire the subs?
Do you guys suggest a capacitor, if so which one?
Thanks!

Alright guys. I could really use your expert help.
They have the speakers wired together with one terminal. If i connect that terminal to 1 side of the amp (not bridged) it sounds alright, but it's only using 400 watts. If I connect the terminal to the bridged amp (all 800 watts) - it sounds crappy. So obviously bridged is not the way to go. How do I need to rewire the speakers? Just put each speaker to the amp? Put red to red and black to black on each one and then to each side of the amp right?
Thanks for your help!

Just run it in stereo mode, with each sub connected Red -> Red Black -> Black (You obviously wouldn't want to run your subs out of phase, and have them implode on you would you
). It's kind of cool, but at the same time useless that you now have two individual sub channels. However, your deck may not support a stereo subwoofer channel. It does actually help a tiny bit in helping creating a 3D soundstage. Most people argue that bass isn't directional, but infact it is.
Anyways, I'm rambling. Hope this helped

I would suggest that you run your system at a 2 ohm load b/c your amp probably can't handle a 1 ohm load. As far as the capacitor, it would help out a great deal if you get one...For yours I would purchase a 1 farad cap. Good rule of thumb, 1 farad for every 1,000 watts. Just about any cap you can get your hands on will be good, some just work better than others. You can either get digital or not (doesn't matter)...nothing too expensive unless you're going competition. Hope this helps!
Positive terminals go to the positive terminals and the negative terminals go to the negative terminals
I believe if I read the specs on the amp right:
-4 ohm load just wire a sub to each channel (assuming the subs are 4 ohm)
-2 ohm load (bridged).
-Connect both positive wires to one positive terminal on the amp, then connect the wires to the positive terminals on the subs
-Connect both negative wires on the other channel to the negative terminal on the amp.
then connect those wires to the negative terminals on the subs.
