I don't think we are really sure that Zeta cannot be adapted for a Camaro, it appears to be more of what we feel about it. Kappa is definitely too small, and Torana feels like a good fit, but as far as getting some solid, reliable technical information about the capabilities of those two chassis, we're a little short there.

I've heard nothing that says the Camaro (or whatever it's to be called) will not be on Zeta....I've heard about the problems getting the firewall lower.....but that "might" be the rumor we've heard about a "re-design"....maybe they were "fixing" that problem.

The Torana is the same size as a Malibu Maxx.....you really think that's Camaro sized?? And it's on a yet to be developed chassis....

I don't want an over-sized, over-weight Camaro, but I don't want a Malibu sized car either....and I sure as hell don't want to wait until the end of this decade for it.

Chevy has NOTHING to sell me (that I'd actually buy) right now....THAT needs to be fixed ASAP.

Under $40,000, me neither. I was raised in a chevy family that now drives a Hyundai, a VW, and a Mitsubishi. Used to be two chevy's and a pontiac.

My sentiments exactly... err except for the last sentance. If Camaro never comes back, I'd actually consider the SSR. If not... I'll stick with 1st gens.

The Torana is a bit bigger then the Maxx. I belive its much wider and longer.

As for Chevy not having anything to sell you, I heard Ford has a killer Mustang!! Buy that, I heard its got performance that will blast you into the late 1990's!!

zeta > sigma in design... but not in cost.

I have heard that. I also have heard that Zeta will be nothing more than a new name for the current V-car including carrying over it's current suspension.

I've been torn over these conflicting reports for quite some time now. But now, I'm leaning towards Zeta being essentially a carryover platform.

They are nearly EXACTLY the same size....look it up, I did......

http://www.tomstrongman.com/RoadTes...Images/Maxx.jpg
187.5" overall length
112.3" wheelbase

http://www.cheersandgears.com/torana/t1.jpg
182.7 " overall length
112" wheelbase

So it's actually SMALLER than the Maxx.....

You working for Ford these days? It's way past being annoying, Al....

I WON'T buy a Mustang......and this STILL doesn't address the FACT that CHevy has NOTHING for the Camaro buyer....and to even consider delaying it is suicide for GM.

Well if Zeta is just a fancy name for a carry over platform (I don't know WHY they would do that but ok...) then I doubt Camaro would be on Zeta (V-car) because Scott said they looked at the Monaro as a potential new Camaro in the 90's and it just wasn't a Camaro. What could have changed that now?

Re: Zeta...Zeta....Zeta.......

Blah! If the Zeta chassis is inferior just use the GTO or Corvette chassis! weld a few beams on if needed but don't make us wait longer than 2007!

Heck, they could just use the modified Sigma chassis that Cadillac is developing (or has developed) for the CTS race car. It's stripped down in weight and Camaro-rific I bet.

Re: Zeta...Zeta....Zeta.......

I'm pretty sure Zeta will mirror GM10/W-car/mid-lux. It's the same platform from the '80s, with some structural revisions and retuned suspension....but with different names.

Look at the current GTO....and I believe, there's your Zeta.
