Run forever? I don't see too many 10 year old Scion's running around with 225,000 miles, or I'm sorry, 225,000 kilometers(*** Crap) on them.
Bring the thread back up in 8 years and lets see how many run forever.
Re: What success looks like
There cheap w/ alot of option...thats why they sell...Hyundai's are all over the road for the same reason...Scions are ugly as f%ck imo...each and every one.

62,000 total? Oh man, Let's burn down the Renaissance Center, because GM must be out of business from that competition.
It's just a Niche brand and models.

Europe and China are strong markets - also not to forget Mexico, Chili, Brasil, etc... Toyota may be gaining ground in the United States but GM is where they need to be in Europe and China. I was back in Germany again a couple weeks ago and you see Mercedes, BMW's, Fords and GM's (with an occasional Porche). Didn't see a Japanese vehicle the whole way. EDIT(I take that back I saw 1 Honda - and there was some N*** looking German Rednecks in that pos, lol. We blew past them in our Ford Mondeo, heh.)
Also, I believe GM is making strides in China.
The US market is the most important, but it's a FAR cry from Worldwide Sales which is a totally different ballgame.
Europe I would put at second place and China at third place.
China is growing much faster then the US and Europe but it's an unstable market that's why in terms of Importance the US and EU are still more important. But China could be the key for the future of GM so I think most Auto manufacturers see it as a Risk they HAVE to take as China is on it's way to being the next superpower...
PS: Does anybody know about the Russian market? I've never been there so I can't say. Do they have their own Auto manufacturers? I would imagine they lean on the German manufacturers for vehicles, but I'm not sure.

Nice of you to perpetuate the myth. Of course, this has nothing to do with you owning a Toyota. News flash: all mechanical things break.
"People want built with quality over stylish and fast."
Uh. No. People WANT stylish and fast, and SETTLE for quality build. Unless they're kidding themselves.

Re: What success looks like
Chrome has got it right. GM is definately looking good around the world and China will become a major player here soon. They are expanding quite rapidly, but like he said, it's unstable. I'm curious to see how the car craze goes over there concerning personal liberties, etc.
I'm still waiting for something really huge to happen in China. Either a coup or some move by Taiwan or something.
But as to the cars themselves, Scions I think sell mostly on being different and cheap. It seems more like Toyota tells us what we should want rather than the general public knows what it wants.
