To the best of my knowledge the only coupes Ford has in the pipeline wear Mercury or Lincoln nameplates, and I doubt either would have round tail lights.

I still say it's either the next GTO or Chevy's version of it.

Come on guys.....

......do you REALLY think GM would let ANYTHING with even a remote possibility of seeing production ANYWHERE near a camera???

These are old styling exercises and will never see the light of day.......

Doug I realize that you know more about the industry than I, and I don't mean any disrespect to your or your knowledge, but there are a few things that make me think this slipped through the cracks ....

a) These pictures were taken on April 25, 2003 (a Friday, perhaps after liquid lunch). They are new ... less than 3 weeks old. Old styling exercises don't sit in valuable space (GM's Technical Center )... Rejected old sleds .... they bust em up and send em to the land fill .... or Saturn ...

b) The picture can't be found on wieck anymore .... that is the first time I've seen an image vanish from the site. These guys (wieck)save images for a living ....

c) If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck ... It so much like the GTO, with Chevy features (taillights) .... it's gotta be a chevy equivalent of a GTO ....

d) GM isn't immune to making a mistake ... Hell from what I've seen, they've been making them for years ....

I really don't think that GM will produce a Chevelle, Camaro , Monte Carlo lineup... and it may be a Chevelle......

why roll your eyes..man how many diffrent ways can you stare at a 1/4 of a car and say what it is..Its a red car??? and so who what where and when....I looked at the whole pic....the clay model was the most prevelent and gave the most clues..
The rims on the model look like "FORD" script logo..is it at Ford? The name badges?? can someone resize them? they give any idea where they are.
all we got is the possible who and when..thats it we need the WHAT and WHERE!
Thats all I was trying to do..you poke around to other parts of the pic to find out whats what..
Could the clay model be the front of the Chevelle??
it does look SS'ish...just was trying to get people to look in the forground to the little things..badges on the cars wheels..I.D. Badges..those things..may not seam like alot but tell you I personally find out more stuff by looking at the not so obvious and get an idea of it before whats what..
thats why I said is it Mazda or Ford?? in my post before..cus of the Ford badges..

just got to find out who has this clay model and then we can narrow it down to company..more than likley GM..but that remails t obe seen!

Err, Caps94ZODG:

(and others who are confused with what where when and how)

The clay model in the foreground is a mock up of a design Alex Morency thought up. He is a dreamer like us, who likes to design his own cars.
Who is Alex Morency? He is the young man with the grey tie. He has some ailment (Im not sure what) and was chosen as a participant for the Make a Wish Foundation.
His dream was to be GM president for a day.
GM made is dream come true and then some. They had him introduce the Malibu MAXX and MAXX SS at the New York autoshow, as well as have him tour the GM design studios, where they took one of his drawings and made a clay model.

This is the picture of the designer showing Alex his car.
The "M" logo on the car is for Morency.

The big question being discussed here and on other sites is what are the other cars in the backround?
The red car in particular is interesting. It seems to have Chevrolet design cues such as the twin tailights.
There is also a silver car just behind it, and a gold one farther in the distance.

Thats what we are trying to figure out.

What Ted said! I still say the red car is Chevy's study on the Monaro/GTO... call it Chevelle or Monte Carlo... just don't call it Camaro.

well I think I plead my case for looking at the little things..name badges and stuff..and to give an idea of what we are looking at..
thats all I was trying to say about the clay model..

The background is interesting and was just doing some more clse up veiwing and havnt posted my thoughts yet..was concentrating on the model cus it gave us a time of when they were done..about a month ago..this puts it there..now who took the pic? and if so..how would someone like this kid get access to picture taking? if so they might have more..or could enlighten us on the cars..he might know..thats all I was saying anyone know how to get email addys of people ...maybee email him and ask?? couldnt hurt..
ohh and the silver in the background car..thats the next GTO I belive.cus of the lack of style the GTO has now...the red coupe still thinking maybee Impala???...Im thinking Chevy's got a few RWD cars comming that we dont have names for yet..or maybee option packages......and the silver one might be a Buick, or Saturn thats comming down the pipeline thats behind the lady......just in my observation..and just sitting here..thats all...
