Please inform me "where I am going with this...", because I have no clue what you are talking about?!?!

You see Holdens everyday. I can appreciate that.
I see SN95's every day, and I probably see a ch1+-load more Mustangs than you do Holdens on a daily basis to boot, with only a few MILLION of them sold here. Maybe that's why I say the Holden (which I see very few of) reminds me of a Mustang... hmmm?

We all have our own eyes and minds, and what they see and think is subjective. You have no grounds to tell me I don't see similarities between two cars. You can CERTAINLY state that you disagree and see NO similarities.

Geez (D)Ude, lighten up. I don't have any "hidden agenda" to try and discredit any of Holden's models... I'm just stating what I think. We CAN do that in public forums these days.

As for the red car in the pic, anybody else think it may be a clay unit? The left side of the car either has a cover over it, or it is clay. Also, the windows are totally opaque (typical with clays too). I also see a difference in the rib over the driver's door from the one on the passenger's side. Wasn't there some talk about slight body changes to the Americanized '07 version in addition to the scoops? The taillights are still the one catch that has me plagued with this model.

Well, like I said early in this thread:

Could this be where all the Chevelle rumors started from?

A GTO counterpart called Chevelle would seem to make sense.
And the '72-ish SS I saw on the way in this morning had 4 ROUND taillamps too!
Looky!

You may have hit a nerve explaining some of the Chevelle hype there Darth ol' buddy!

Actually there was an article in the Chicago Sun late last year that said "Chevy wants to bring back the Chevelle." (Search the archives under Chevelle and my name.) So its actually more than a rumor although its never been confirmed a reality.

Quite honestly I'm begining to agree with what others have said... why would Chevy do a Chevelle, Monte Carlo and Camaro? We know the Monte is being redesigned, and we're hoping (and assuming) the Camaro is coming back at some point before 2010.

From a historical standpoint, I'd much rather see a Chevrolet Monaro/GTO derivative with a "Chevelle" nameplate than "Monte Carlo". However, as "Chevelle" has been dead for so long, I honestly don't see Chevy giving up on "Monte Carlo" just for nostaliga-sake.

Of course they could actually do Chevelle, Monte Carlo, Impala and Camaro, but that just seems highly unlikely at this point, especially with the current state of the economy.

Ya, I think along those same lines too... in my head, if a Chevelle became a reality, Monte Carlo would be shelved....

It would be great if I am wrong though!

No because then the Chevelle, MC, and Camaro would spread Chevy's coupes sales so thin among them that they would do something stupid like cancel all three

At the same time, everyone at GM (Lutz, Wagoner, Cower, and others) seem to be stressing at every opportunity that the future of car production is in making smaller quanities of vehicles profitablily than previously thought possible.

I don't think they're saying this just for their health. I do think we may be underestimating the old General.

Looks like I found something juicy--the picture has been pulled and replaced with a motorsports picture.

So for your viewing pleasure...

cmc is right ... the fact that wieck replaced that photo is significant. hmmmmmm

I searched through their photos and other of Alex M remain ....

http://www.wieck.com/public/*2PV_050733
http://www.wieck.com/public/*2PV_050734
http://www.wieck.com/public/*2PV_050735
etc

My bet is on a 2006-07 Ls6 Chevelle .... If Pontiac has the GTO ... chevy is bound to get the equivalent.

The clay mockup featured in the press photo is really not all that important--it's just the kid's own logo they put on his car for him.

We're not talking about the kid's clay model... we were talking about the red sports coupe in the background.
