looks like junk

 

I don't care what you guys say, this bad boy will definately sell. Its conservative, VERY classy looking for the price, and is definately going to give the 500 a run for its money. Its very evolutionary IMHO. to Chevy on this one, It may just be the classiest looking Chevrolet ever produced.

 

Yeah, after a few more looks at it, I think it looks fine. The Impala will sell more units then the 300, so I think that a little understated design is good. I didnt like the large pannel gaps, cheap headlights, and overall cheap look to the present Impala. This one. like the LaCrosse over the Regal and present GP over last GP, looks a lot cleaner and more pleasing to the eye then the last gen.
I really cant wait for interior shots. If Cobalt and Uplander are any indication of where GM's interior quality and design are at now, I can only hope that the interior of the new Impala, and MC, are LIGHT YEARS beyond last gen, and above that of the Camry's, which IMO arent that great.

 

Don't really know what the big deal is. If you look at the history of the Impala/Caprice/Biscayne/etc, they are very conservative. Not one really stood out as anything other than ordinary. Its a bread and butter family car, always has been, always will.

Even the 94-96 Impala wasn't anything special other than a paint job if you think about it. The Impala is not about flash, its a large family car for the masses.

 

Looked at it again, it still looks really funky. It looks like a car that will sell with a $5,000 rebate. I guess that's what GM is going for. :P

 

Looks fine to me for a family sedan.

The large bottom grill is a little odd at first, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

You people need to understand that this is what these cars need to be like... just about every car in this class is conservatively styled, and they all sell 200,000+ units.

 

Someone who works at Oshawa posted on GMI that this is NOT the '06 Impala.

I hope he turns out to be right.

 

Hmmmm , after reading that I went back and looked at the pic real close . It almost looks like it could be a REAL good photoshop . The headlights look like modified Cobalt headlights , the pic has same lower wrap around bumper cut outs that house the fog lights , just like the Cobalt , has Cobalt wheels , Malibu mirrors . The back bumper has ground effects , but the side or the front does not , the shadow of the back window thru the glass isnt right . Add all the graininess to cover any very small imperfections .

There are people around here with amazing photoshop skills , could this maybe just be a chop of a Malibu

are we all looking at the same pic here? the black one right? it looks fantastic for a W-bone American mid sized sedan. wheels and everything. FANTASTIC. I really don't know what else to say to those who think it looks bad except that it doesn't.
