Disgusting. It looks like the combination of an Altima, a Camry, and an old Lumina with curves from the early 90's. We concluded a while back that GM needs good looking cars to bring people to the showrooms. This will do none of that with the bread and butter Impala looking like that.

To me, it looks like the front end of the last gen Monte Carlo. Doesn't look too bad. Conservative enough that it'll probably sell well.

This is exactly what I was thinking. While there's part of me that would have liked to see something a little more adventurous, I also see a lot of the "look at my incredibly innofensive middlemarket styling!" language that has allowed Toyota to move closer and closer to a spot in the big 3. Everybody sing with me - "I'm turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so - durn ner ner neet ner ner." I liked the previous Impala - which did a fair job at grafting traditional American sedan proprortions on a mid-large front-driver but this looks like a hit to me. Is it "my" car, probably not. But I think it will do well.

Yep it looks like an updated Lumina- http://users.marshall.edu/~rossett1/1998%20Lumina.jpg

Let's be honest the current and refreshed Impala is really nothing more then a rebadged and updated Lumina anyway.

Egad what an ignorant statement. The current Impala has MASSIVELY better crashworthiness than the Lumina it replaced. How do you suppose they did that?

As for the looks - I like it very much. Looks very clean but strong. Nice quarter panels too.

looks like a rebadged G6...

Nothing says Impala about it. I really wish they made it more aggressive. hopefully theyll do that with the zeta car.

Hmm... they must've been going for a "retro" look... I always wanted to see what a civic/lumina blended together would look like...

FINALLY!!! THE MID-90s ARE BACK!!!!

Still better than the Ford 500 and it will also come with a V8, all wheel drive and displacement on demand.

Why should it look "Wild" or "Different"? I think GM wanted to keep the styling on the safe side to try to maintain all those fleet sales while offering an updated look.

I actually like it. It looks more refined and doesn't scream for attention like the Dodge Magnum and 300s which can turn certain customers away.

I think they will probably cater to their current Impala buyers with this one.

I hope it sells cause I have lots of buddies working in that plant!

I like the headlights actualy. Something about the grill that is odd...reminds me of the old Lumina's and Monte's, but still very clean. I like it. I hope to see the rear end of it.

The rear end will look very square kinda like the new Buick Lacrosse. It doesn't have too much roundness like the current Grand Prix's which I dislike so much.
