Did it feel like it had more front space than the 4th Gen Fbody? Did you have to lean up touch the shifter like the previous gen? I just got to peak at one at the local dealership. No salesman around at midnight on a Saturday night to let me step inside of it
I sat in one Friday. The seats are incredible comfortable. I am 6'4 226 lbs and did not have to have the seat all the way back! Some of the best seats I have ever sat it. Oh and the exhaust is badass. Its much louder then the old GT or stock LS1's. I like it better then the GTO's.

Gearing, gearing, gearing... good point. See my post in the other thread about GT times, says pretty much the same thing, but uses the Bullit as a basis for comparison.
LOL. I almost replied to your thread over there, but figured it just wouldn't be a good day if we appeared to agree too much.

That said, your analogy is valid from my perspective. I think the 05 GT would have little trouble with a Bullitt, though I know that is not relevant to the point you made.

Yeah, just a matter of scale. I have no doubts that an 05 GT could take down a Bullit pretty easily.

Related...for folks like me, it looks pretty apparent that we will have to wait for some of those "special edition" (SE) Mustangs before getting "excited" about how they perform (talking pure numbers here....mainly acceleration). I suppose this is now pretty much the status quo...to wit...the GT is a reasonably-high performance car, able to roughly match or beat the competition in its price range (talking new cars here), but thats about it. The SE cars are those that will be built to perform to much higher standards - though at a much higher cost, I'm sure.

It's ironic that this is quite a bit different from both the LS1 F-body, in which the stripper (and thus cheaper) LS1s were the real performance bargains, and the old Fox-body Mustangs, which were essentially the same way (my factory non-a/c 88 Coupe was quite the bargain and quite the runner in its day).

Yeah, I have the same problem at bowling allies Do they really have to make those shoes look like that I'm 31 btw, glad HS is long over with!

It has more depth than the 4th Gen or it seems like it to me. There's definitely plenty of leg room and shifting gears isn't a problem as the steering wheel is not in the way even tilted all the way down and there's plenty of room between it and the door. You should have no problems reaching the shifter or touching the console unless you have the seat leaned back too far like a lot of kids these days that think they look cool looking out the rear windows while driving I know you probably hate Ford, but man, test drive one of these babies or at the very least sit in it and play with it. I knew the car was nice, but I was really impressed.
