Once again redzed I disagree. At the very least, the LS1 Firebird was infinitely more desireable than the LT1 version. I always found the long, pointed beak of the LT1 Firebird very odd. In these parts, I can count on one hand the number of LT1 Pontiacs I see in a month, and lose count after 100 the number of LS1 TA's and WS6's I see in the same time period. Maybe it's just the Detroit area, who knows.

Nobody in detroit drives a car more than 3 years old. The roads and climate destroy them and everyone is on a discount plan.

Haha well my car is 9 years old and is about 900 miles away from the big 100k, but it has held up EXTREMELY well in year-round driving. I also don't have a relative in the auto industry.

Oh yeah, well my truck is 16 years old and has nearly 230,000 miles. Of course, it has held up extremely well-er.

Ya, well... this seems to be an ongoing trend with a lot of people here! lol.

Ditto.

The whole redzed comment about the 98+ 'Birds headlights being different and poorly done.... it's called styling !! No other car had really taken that approach, and Pontiac pulled it off wonderfully.

As a general rule, MOST people , at least on this board, favor 4th Gen F-Body styling as follows:

Camaro: 93-97 styling is perfereed
Firebird: 98-02 styling is perferred.

There have been a dozen or more polls on this subject over the 4+ years I posted and lurked here. Comes up the same everytime... And for "Overall-best 4th Gen F-Body Styling Polls" , 98-02 Firebird wins those too... even over the 93-97 Camaro.

Can't relaly argue with the 4th gen's performance. Which is why I'm talking about looks. The 4thgen strayed way off the path in the looks dept. Like a crack-induced alien baby or something. Totally out of whack. I can't imagine an evolutionary 5th gen after the 4th gen. That's why they decided to clear it out of our minds for a yew years and start off fresh.

darth:

"Camaro: 93-97 styling is perfereed
Firebird: 98-02 styling is perferred."

That's right on the money! Even I, someone who generally doesn't like any 4thgens at all, agree with that. Those two breakdowns are the best looking ones.
