No, even if the overall market doesn't increase, Nissan can steal marketshare from Ford and GM.

Nissan Goes Big: Is the Pathfinder Armada a Tahoe slayer?
The new Pathfinder Armada is another sign of Nissan's comeback. This vehicle beats all of the current full-sized 1/2 ton SUVs on power, torque and safety. Of course, the styling is love-it-or-hate-it. Also, the pricing is still a mystery.
This product is significant for two reasons. First, with standard Stability Control and side-curtain-airbags, Nissan is showing up the domestics for their lack of regard for safety. Second, the 300hp+ and 375lb/ft rated V8 sets a new standard for the SUV market. We'll have to wait for the Tahoe SS to see this sort of power in a non-luxury domestic SUV.
It's also noteworthy that the Pathfinder Armada has an IRS like the Expedition, but still maintains a respectable 5300lb curb weight. While it might not seem light, a loaded Navigator tips the scales at 7200lbs!
Price is the big question with the Armada, and since it seems set to replace the aging Nissan Patrol, it probably won't be cheap. (The Patrol is Nissan's Land Cruiser competitor, sold everywhere but North America.) My best guess is that the Pathfinder Armada will slot between the the Toyota Land Cruiser and Sequoia as far as MSRP.
