Official Picture of the new GTR and info. Corvette Killer

C6 z06 Vette Killer

http://www.motorauthority.com/news/c...8-nissan-gt-r/

After months of spy shots and drip-fed teasers Nissan’s all new GT-R super-coupe has been revealed with the early release of the December issue of MotorTrend. The tagline on the magazine’s cover claims the car is as fast as the Porsche 911 Turbo and is priced less than $80,000, confirming rumors the new GT-R will set a new standard in bang-for-your-buck comparisons.

Other details include the GT-R’s acceleration time of 3.5 seconds for the 0-60mph and 11.7 seconds for the quarter mile. Top speed is claimed to be a staggering 192mph.

Although we still don’t have any official details about the car’s new drivetrain, most are expecting to see a 3.8L V6 engine fed by a pair of turbochargers and mated to a dual-clutch gearbox with the latest ATESSA all-wheel drive setup. The car should measure in at 4,650mm in length and 1,920mm across. There’s rumored to be three different flavors of the new GT-R, starting with a 450hp entry-level model and ranging up to a 530hp flagship. This latter version is expected to be a stripped out racer with plenty of carbon-fiber and a track-tuned suspension.

Stay tuned for the flood of official details and images once the car is revealed at next week’s Tokyo Motor Show.

So the low end will cost $80,000 and the and for Z06 performance you will have to spend a bunch more to get that 530HP and carbon-fiber.

Yeah, the 530 HP version is going to be a stripper with no ammenities for more than what a Z06 costs from the sounds of it. Cool! But hey, carbon fiber!

Actually the GT-R design was out before the EVO was. They been working on this for 2 yrs. So really Mitsubishi stole it.

*Yawn*.

Repost.

I also HIGHLY doubt that Motor Trend has any "inside information" on the GT-R. They're still reporting that the Camaro will have an LS2 in it.

How much is it rumoured to weigh??

I'm not seeing "Z06 Killer" written all over it, but hey, maybe I'm missing something??

11.7 in the 1/4 mile? The C5Z could do that. The C6Z is good for 10's . The quick 0-60 is obviously due to its AWD.

When the C6 Z06 rolled into town, all the mags and reviews were spouting "Viper killer" ..... at least the Z06 could deliver the goods on that . Until I see more about this GTR????????

It definitely weighs a little over 3800 lbs. Some automotive website caught a truck with two production GT-R, complete with window stickers, and got the official weight.

MT got 11.5 and 0-60 3.5 from the C6 Z06. I am pretty sure C&D will get a better time than MT anyways. They usually do.

The car weighs around 3850 supposely.

The Supra and Skyline have always been the ricers' two wet-dream cars. Of course these magazines are going to put the hype machine into overdrive. They're looking to sell magazines.

None of this of course changes the fact that this car will probably be blisteringly-fast by most anyone's measurement. It will be interesting to see some real-world specs, but I kind of doubt you'll see many GT-Rs show up at local drag strips around the country.
