Re: Spy pics: Dodge Challenger Concept Car

I like it....yes it's very retro, but so what.....it's still awesome. But, I wish Dodge would quit putting the "window grill" on EVERYTHING, they can't be afraid to take it off of a vehicle. Also, there is NO chrome around the windows (like some people are saying on here) it's called a reflection. I'm still more interested in the Camaro concept.

With this being uncovered now, GM has the NAIAS audience in the palm of their hands.

hood needs to be longer, other wise, excellent quality Xerox.

with the hood shortened, it looks out of proportion

Don't forget these shots were done with a telephoto lens and they foreshorten things out of porportion....

Notice the relationship of the front wheel and it's apparent size in the two photos...it looks bigger in the shot from the rear than it does the front.

Re: Spy pics: Dodge Challenger Concept Car

If the Camaro comes out looking like some modernized 4th gen(which is what you retro haters seem to want) It'll be a sales flop compared to the Mustang and Challenger. Those two cars just stand out in a crowd with their unmistakeable American heritage. Japanese cant build cars with soul like this. If the Camaro is not very 69 looking, the only ones who will want it are the ones who liked the 4th gen.

interesting point. If this pic's proportions are shortened because of the lense, then that's one long car with a huge rear overhang.

Anybody else think its a little odd that this car is totally uncovered in broad daylight? I guess since its a concept and not a mule, then it wouldn't be covered. Still seems a little odd though.

And I think it looks a little too retro as well.

I also think it is very odd. I mean, they still are covering jeep hurricanes and stuff like that.

If I remember correctly Charger spy shots appeared the same way. Five or six cars sitting on a transport out in the open w/no camo...

While I dont like retro, I also dont think it will be styled like a 4th gen. I think it will be styled like a Camaro, back with a long nose, short deck design. It should carry minor herritage design cues such as larger rear flank rising over the wheel, and other such cues, but I deffinatly dont think we will be getting a second coming of a 4th gen.

i'm with you on this one. even though i own a 4th gen, i know i will definetley be turned off if the styling is based off of one.

Re: Spy pics: Dodge Challenger Concept Car

The problem with the Challenger concept is if Chrysler are going to revive such a classic, the can't change the overhangs too much otherwise they'll lose the essence of the overall design. The problem with that today, is that short overhangs are the norm for sports sedans and sports cars in general. I guess it won't worry those who drive slow-ish around corners or those who just prefer to cruise.

Re: Spy pics: Dodge Challenger Concept Car

If the camaro is sidetracked allowing the Challenger to be offered way earlier......I think I might have a hard time picking which car I want. Though if Viper Blue is a option this car is very tempting to me......
