Oh I see, I'm supposed to care what the owner's of competitor's cars think about the Camaro returning or not?

There's still plenty of Camaro's out there to buy...probably a few left on dealer lots, but you chose to buy an import anyway....heck, it's only been a couple of years ago since they left.

Me, I choose to drive a Camaro.

Sorry if I offended you.......

Re: Some of you make NO sense what so ever.

I could help support the awesome company that is GM
What exactly is wrong with that? In fact I DO think it helps to buy GM if a person someday hopes the Camaro will be back. It gives GM more resources to develop the Camaro with. So it bothers me a little every time I see someone say "well. I WON'T be buying any GM's until the Camaro is back".

And yes I DO think GM has done some pretty awesome things for car enthusiasts. The IROC-Z Camaro. The LS1 Z28. To name just a few. (DON'T get me started ).

Not, offended. It's just a typical response. I find it funny.

Like I don't know I bought a car that isn't "real" to you, and all the other "Z28 or nothing" crowd. I've grown up, and got to the point where everything isn't about having a loud car that you can triple the speed limit in. Now I prefer to have a car that is reliable, worry free and isn't being held together with bubblegum. A Z28 was the last car on my list.

Yeah, I could have went and bought another Camaro. But it doesn't meet any of the criteria (reliability, good build quality). One was enough. I need a car that isn't going to fall to crap before I even get a chance to pay it off. You won't get anything from GM for under $30K that's going to last longer than 5 years and be worth a damn.

I'll look out and take care of GM the day they do the same for me. This is supposed to be a customer service oriented business. If you make crap, I don't buy. That's all there is to it.

I spend my money on something that is going to be worth my investment. Not something that is going to be a pile in a matter of 5-6 years.

I just find it funny that people are still sweating over it and pondering when it'll come back. Day after day it's like the same group of people are still losing sleep over it.

If it does, it does. If it doesn't, oh well. GM isn't too worried about it, why does everyone keep asking when they're going to bring it back? It's probably going to come back as a rebaded sibling to the Cobalt anyway. Wouldn't put it past GM to disgrace yet another name. (Impala, Malibu)

Exactly, why do you even waist your time posting here? I'm convinced that people like you is one of the reasons RedPlanet left.

Nope, I never said a thing to Settlemire. He's a nice guy. He's also basically the only person at GM that tried to give a crap.

IIRC, he got sick of being asked why there was no Camaro. I could give a crap less what GM does with their little car line. You didn't see me harassing him.

Lets see here, no, he didn't like how people wouldn't believe him and just kept critisizing while all he did was give one hint after another. He risked getting in trouble to come here and tell people that it was coming without actually saying it.

Wow, you're dense.

He did post a tidbit on LS2.com a month or so after he stopped posting here. It's people like you who ran him off this board.

He has no reason to keep us dangling on a string. He's doing this because he's one of the few people in the upper GM management that actually cares about the fanbase.

...And to be honest, I don't even know why you post on here anymore if all you are going to do is hate.

Re: Some of you make NO sense what so ever.

Your reasoning for why the Camaro must be coming back is comical. You're probably one of the people that knew for sure it was coming back for 04, then 05.

The Impala came back too. What a fine piece of work that is. Good luck with the waiting game.

Not trying to flame, I just found this comment funny since you have 2 rediculous stereo systems in your rides.

Seriously, you must care a little bit about whether or not the Camaro comes back, else you wouldn't be here....unless you really like being the antagonist.

Re: Some of you make NO sense what so ever.

I don't understand how anyone would find it shocking that people on a Camaro message board would be interested in and talk about the return of the Camaro.

Obviously, this is an enthusiast site, where people talk about the past, present, and future of the subject at hand... just like sites for bands, sports teams, or just about anything else with a following.

I can understand buying a vehicle from another company if GM is not offering something you want right now, but bashing people who have an interest and can see what is actually going on just doesn't sense. Why be here in the first place? Got nothing better to do with your life? I really don't understand.

Also, Werm saying things like "I bought a Mustang, because I didn't want an outdated car" is kind of hypocritcal, don't you think!? The 2001 Mustang, while wearing sheetmetal that was only 2 years old at the time, is on a platform that dated back to 1994, and the basics back to 1979 (and really earlier than that) where the Camaro was freshened only 1 year prior (though not as extensively), had a platform that was only 1 year older (1993) and the basics went back to 1982, being 3 years "fresher" if you wanna call it that.

And, just like Kick Z Tail Out is apparently happy by buying a Scion, I've been extremely happy with my Monte Carlo SS that I bought after the Z28, and GTO that I currently have... so, IMO, GM is not a lost cause.

Am I upset that we don't have a Camaro? Absolutely! But I understand what happened, and know that most of the people responsible are gone. I also understand that it takes time to get things moving on a new Camaro. And, finally, I understand that sometimes there are reasons people can't say things sometimes... An example could be an out-of-court law suit settlement, where Party A give Pary B a certain amount of cash, but Party B is restricted from talking about details of the case and such. It's not all that out of the ordinary people...

Re: Some of you make NO sense what so ever.

Well put Darth especially the last paragraph.

Actually, the Camaro going away came at a time in my life that it doesn't hurt too bad. I bought my Z new in 93, got married and had a kid in 94, had another kid in 97, sold the Z in 02. Money obviously has gotten tighter since my single days. I should be OK sometime in 07 or 08!!

I wish there was a Camaro from 03 thru 07, but it didn't happen. I'm not happy about it but I will probably survive.

It's your money, you do what ever you want with it. Why is it so hard to just understand that for some Scion, or what ever other brand, is just not cutting it? Why not just agree to disagree and not bring it up in almost each and every thread? :blah:

Also, I'd be willing to bet a few bucks that there are many F-body owners whose cars are not "piles" after 5-6 years.

Let's just wait and see what your Scion is like after the 5-6 year time period.
