And i'm supposed to be impressed by a 14 second ET out of such a LEGENDARY motor as the HEMI? Like i said, the average V6 sedan will suck the doors clean off that truck and while the 300C and charger aren't as pathetic, they're still going to barely walk an average V6 sedan.
That kind of (lack of) performance is only going to water down the legend. How many kids are going to be in awe of the hemi when their friends with SRT4s, cobalt SS's and other econo-box rockets can take one down with ease. The average hemi car is going to be stock it's entire life and is piloted by a non-gear head. This is a SHARP contrast to the 426 hemi cars, which as i already stated were relatively rare and faster then just about everything on the street.
One more time for the slow people, an analogy. A 1970 nova SS 350 is no match for a hemi-cuda, even with a couple light mods. OTOH. a stock 2005 cobalt SS or SRT4 will smoke the hemi trucks, and are as fast as the non SRT hemi cars. And dollar for dollar on mods, the lightweight FI cars will suck the doors off a base hemi car and get you into SRT8 range.

I've had a couple try to play with the goat. People that buy those trucks are apparently as deluded as you are about their capabilities. I love sand bagging them and letting them get a length on me, and then getting on it through second to give them a nice chirp into third as i blow past them. I've had better races vs. nissan altimas and the like. Last time i sand bagged on one of them, we had to shut down before i reeled it back in.
btw, my friend has an extended cab hemi truck, and i have drove it. Color me unimpressed.

The fact is that the amount of 14 second vehicles that you see on te drive home is realitively small. Most vehicles are in the 16 to 17 second range.

Most cars might run 16s to 17s. Nobody was talking about 'most cars'. I think if you read my previous posts, you'll see i am refering to the plethora of ~250hp V6 sedans on the road today. If you take pride in jumping on the weakest cars on the road, then i guess the ram is your truck. If you want to have a chance against V6 altimas, acuras and lexus, i'd look elsewhere or at least go for the holeshot.

The most common config QC SB is a mid 15 truck, plain and simple. And it will get smoked by a Toyota Avalon/Nissan Altima/Honda Accord....

All the TD truck sites think the Hemi Ram is funnest truck to pick on, even the Cummins guys love smoking Hemis.
Now the Hemi cars are decent, but what you say is true, the turbo Neon and the SC Cobalt will easily mod beyond a stock 300C. But so what? Everyone knows these cars weigh 2 tons. They're big fast cars and there's nothing this side of an E55 that's comparable. I don't think a low14/high 13 big car is a downer in any way.
Now the Ram guys, they DO need to quit thinking their trucks are fast.
