A Charger like Sedan with a Turbo 3.6L DOHC would be a better fit for Buick anyways. I'd like to See the GNX be a performance pakage on one of Buicks RWD sedans.

Not smart, GM is already late to the party. RWD Sprost Sedans are looking to be the next big fad. (sorry large SUVs)

I think if Buick had a charger like sedan it would outsell the charger by a wide margin. That would be a perfect product for that brand.

For some reason, I dont picture Dodge and Buick in the same class.
A 300 like car for Buick, yes. A Charger like car for Pontiac, bingo.

The charger like car for Pontiac is the GTO. Its a coupe and rightfully should be. Buick would be the perfect place for a Muscle sedan.

The Charger is a land yaht compared to the GTO. The GTO has about the same size and proportions as the Mustang.

GTO was always bigger then pony cars and more in line with the heavier muscle cars. So what? My point is that the GTO coupe fits Pontiac. A 4 door muscle sedan fits buick.

Re: Some things to ponder.

That wasn't the comment I was replying to. You said Pontiac's Charger-like car is the GTO. I said the GTO is closer in size to the Mustang.

Mustang = ponycar
Charger = largeass sedan
GTO = ponycar

The GTO is not a pony car. It more closely fits the Muscle car classification.

It's more like a Grand Touring car now.

The "old" GTO was a muscle car.

The "new" GTO is something else.

The new GTO is still a musclecar, the Charger wanst to be a musclecar. If the new Camaro was 187* it'd be perfect IMO.

Re: Some things to ponder.

Though there are things about it that I don't care for, and with respects to the 86/87 TRs, the 04+ GTO is more of a Muscle Car than anything that has come out of Detroit since....well...since probably the early 70s.

IMHO, the only reason it is compared to the Mustang is that there is pretty much nothing else to compare to the Mustang.

Maybe the definition of muscle car should be allowed to change a tad over 40 years, just like the automobile has changed.

The GTO is much faster than all of them with slightly less interior aneminties.

If it was me, I would rate it GTO, RX-8, G35. 1-2-3. If I worked at a mag, it would be RX-8, G35, GTO.

The GTO does not belong anywhere near those cars. Totaly diffrent approaches to a car. The rx8 is also at a much lower price point in response to your comment on that. The RX8 is in the class of the 350z/g35 Which would be v6 japanese sports cars. The GTO is a v8 muscle coupe with the closest thing in that cat being the v8 Charger sedan. Japan sells nothing to compete in this segment.
