In general, people, do you want something that looks like it slices through the wind, or hits it with a sledgehammer?

How about we stop worrying about it until it comes out. Your whining isn't going to make GM say "Oh wait, let's redesign it!"
And for the record, I wasn't kidding about what I said a few posts back. I think the late model 2nd gens are ugly as hell, but I'll have one in my collection by the time I hit 40.

Regardless, I'm just happy they're bringing the Camaro back, whatever it looks like, it makes me happy.
Edit: And, with how much success the Mustang is drawing off the retro theme, it's almost a given that Chevy will follow suit and go retro.

Go tell Charlie his IROC deserves a redneck rep, but a '79 T/A or an early '80s 5.0 are somehow exempt
Give it up. Every muscle car, as it ages, goes through a stage where its no longer new, but not quite collectible. It is affordable to "rednecks," who then beat the crap out of them. Mustangs are no different. Where do you think Dodge came up with the idea for the rednecks in the Hemi ads????????
Give it up, man. Glad you like the retro...accept the fact a lot of us don't. Is that such a difficult concept?

Alright then, I am whining for a 69 inspired car! Not a copy, not a replica but new car that is an evoloution of the 1st gens. As if the 2nd,3rd and 4th gen we know never existed. Thats what would make me wait to buy ANYTHING until this car came out.

I'm not necessarily looking for a "FrankenMaro" where styling cues of all four generations are represented (would probably make for an awkward look), but tying the new Camaro down to such a brief period of its history just makes so little sense to me.
Re: Road&Track 2007 Camaro "revealed"
Car needs to be aerodynamic. If they could somehow pull that off with a 69 knock off, then more power too them. But it would be hard. Honestly, if it had to be "retro" a rounded 3rd gen with chopped overhangs wouldn't really be a bad starting point...

I can whine for the next year if I have to!

I want something evolutionary,
NO 69’ inspired crap!
No, "if Mustang did it so should Chevy"
I want a one off NEW DESIGN that just says Camaro when you see it.
PERIOD!

By the way Ive always liked the theme of this concept!
