How many Iraqies have we killed??(a fact not just speculation as 9/11)
More than Saddam I'm sure...How many inocent victoms???
How many did we kill in '91???
Judge justly please.
Is it Ok b/c we call it war?
I refuse to become what we hate, so I don't support the war, I do support getting our people home to their families, where they belong.
Fact, we De-Nationalized Iraqi oil....why???????????(ahem..Halibur..hemm....)
Fact, Sadam was educating even his women and bringing his country out of 3rd world status, things Al Queda(sp?) hated him and Iraqies for.
Fact, he thumbed his nose at OPEC's demands for slowing oil production, b/c he was using that to ease sanctions against him.
He was a very unruly child, not that I think he was a good man, but definitely not as propotionally a monster as some other global killers.
Having no WMD, he felt he had 4th amendment rights, (big mistake), and thumbed his nose at US and NATO.
For that he had to go...plain and simple....and with China stressing oil reserves, we just can't afford to have an unreliable leader with that much oil, when we might need it.

Jiddu just asks you to think deeper before coming to your own conclusions, I've read some of his books, (and getting more) he didn't draw any predjudice or bias lines of any kind, which prevent you from coming to a right judgement, or correct perception. I recommend to anyone to read his book "Awakening of Intelligence", excellent book on mental awarness. Remember the old saying,"..nothing to fear but fear itself..." Its been used to manipulate people for eons...

First, there's NO proof, whatsoever, that Iraq had anything to do with 9/11, and as far as OBL, other than his face being flashed on TV between footage of the "attacks", subliminally linking him, there's been NO solid proof there either....there's actually videos out by excellent mathmaticians and physicists that show the buildings were "pulled down" and not allowed to fall slower as gravity would have provided...many floors fell all at once...no stacking effect as some try to show. And building #7, untouched, fell in a like manner.....3 building fell, implosion style withing hours of each other....doesn't anyone find that just a little stange??? A similar skyscraper in France burned for days without imploding..hmmmm.
I'm not justifying anyone, but knowing what our govt has done in the past, I'm not letting the flag blind me either. I'm saying more objectivity and scrutiny is needed before we start hanging people.(or going to war with them)
flame away..as always.
Stick your head in the sand it will all go away. I LOVE liberals. If it were up to the Pacifist we would still be British. Unfortunately this contry has a short memory. Washington had to deal with the wretched Tory's who were loyal to the king but also some who thought the Brits would win anyway and didnt want war. If your nutty conspiricy theory held any water the Democrats would be all over it.

I don't think so. Canada, Australia, and New Zealand all became independent without a war for independence. But things certainly would be different!

I think it might. all of those countries were given independence after America fought for hers. There was no US at the time, just Colonial America. The weight of the British Empire was to be brought down on American Colonies to put down the ungrateful rebels who had made their fortune under British rule. I certainly wouldnt want to be as liberal as Canada who is a great neighbor but relies on the US to defend them. Hitler went unchecked as not our problem but was on the verge of bombers that could leave france hit our shores and get back to france. I dont think it could carry a payload though just yet but they were almost there. Japan went uncheck and they could hit us. They had developed a clay bomb that the nose would fall off and send a signal to the body of the shell to burst apart scattering small pox infected lic into the atmosphere. It was even tested on the Chinese with devestating effect. Luckily they hit Perl Harbor and woke us up. Iraq should have been delt with in the early 90s but the resoloution only allowed to go to the Iraqi border. Even if Iraq couldnt get to us directly yet, I feel it was and still is the right thing to do. One of the things I admire about Clinton is he supported the Iraq war when it wasnt popular in his party. Bin Laden should have been delt with the first time he hit the towers, but I guess that was a conspiricy too? Clinton admits that as his greates mistake, not getting Bin Laden when he had the chance. My only fear is the only thing I know Afganis export is drugs I hope they have something else to sustain their economy... Did you know that according to the Balt Sun, Putin equated the US to the wolf in childerns fairy tales and vowed to build up arms to keep us in check. I think Korea could be reunited if it werent for China. Germany reunion took the fall of the Soviet, and we continue to out source our labor to Chinese fueling their economy.

Our military is invaluable in keeping stability in the world which I think affects us. It makes me sick when the media goes after them for abu graib and this latest incident where they may or may not have killed civilians. Thats a small group who have been convicted by the media before it has been looked into because it suits the medias politics. There have been incidents in every war. According to the book "1776" In the revoloutionary war in NewYork there was an area owned by the church called the Holy ground where two continetal army troops were killed and mutilated in a ***** house. One was castrated. Gangs of soliders tore the brothel apart and an old ***** was found later in a outhouse. Washington had to impose curfues and military patrols in the holy ground. They should be held accountable, not seen as the status quo.

As strongly as I feel about freeing Iraq and Afganistan, Democratizing both Im going to drop it for now. Im tired and Im sure Im just pissing people off...

Please go on, I'm sitting on a construction site right now, I'd love to hear more about how the twin towers falling doesn’t make sense...

I want to hear more about how these “experts” think our government engineered these buildings to fall……

I’m not going to touch the rest of your post though, your obviously too far gone to reach…

90rocz, your post is so filled with inaccuracies it is unbelievable. I could go line by line, by I just don't have the energy. It's obvious that you are only exposed to a cloistered group of people who have this same radical mindset.

Frankly, although you are entitled to your opinions, I find them quite disturbing.

Not me. I can always stop reading the thread if I don't like it.

It is interesting to speculate on the forks not taken, though. I think it's a useful mental exercise as preparation to deciding which fork to take in the future.

There certainly is no easy way to know when to act and when not to act.
